Ski Holidays in Slovakia

For those who thought a skiing holiday was out of the budget this year then think again.

Mountain Paradise is offering a week’s skiing in Slovakia in March for just £499 per person – a saving of £250. The package, departing on March 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th 2009, include: return flights from Manchester or Luton, airport transfers, seven nights four star BB accommodation and a six day lift pass.

Despite being in the eurozone, prices in Slovakia are still a bargain – with a pint of beer, a vodka, soft drink or large sandwich costing only €1, a main course in a restaurant around €3 and an ice cream just €0.50.

The £499 deal to Slovakia’s High Tatras includes accommodation in the Grand Hotel Praha, Best Western Tulipan, Medved Apartments or Crocus Apartments.

The same £499 offer is available to the low Tatras with accommodation in the three star Hotel Druzba or two-star Hotel Ski. All hotels are ski in ski out.

Both mountain ranges are a short transfer from the inbound airports of Kosice (one hour) and Poprad (ten minutes) with a direct two hour flight to each from Manchester and Luton.

Slovakia’s dramatic High Tatras Mountains remain one of Europe’s best kept skiing secrets offering perfect terrain for families, novices and intermediates with delightful resorts such as Strbske Pleso, Stary Smokovec and Tatranska Lomnica.

For advanced skiers the resort of Jasn in the Low Tatras Mountains provides more challenging skiing and boarding including some great free ride terrain and a fun snowboard park.
